Rayon Productions are looking for a full female cast to be part of an exciting charity feature film project.
The film, Reservoir Cats will be an Aussie remake of Reservoir Dogs by Quentin Tarantino, with the noticeable difference that all the male characters will be replaced and played by female ones.

I decided to audition for a part today, and the unusual process was that the actors had the opportunity to choose which character they wanted to audition for. This made it confusing as I could see myself play a couple of roles, therefore I decided to prepare two roles and show them both at the audition.

I went up for the part of PINK, originally played by Steve Buscemi and the other BLONDE, originally played by Michael Madsen. I would be happy to play either of these parts.
The film will also be the first feature film to be made purely for charity and we will be giving every cent raised to breast cancer research. The goal is to raise over $1 million. As a result none of the cast or crew roles will be paid, purely all for charity. A great cause to be involved in as Breast Cancer Foundation is one charity I contribute to each year.

I know this experience will be as fun and enjoyable as possible.

There are so many short film festivals to check out and one of those is NAFA Showfest.

I was invited to sit with my husband who was a judge at the finals recently.

Nafa showfest is a competitive and interactive short film festival.

From a simple start at the Sydney Comedy Store in 2004 screening shorts on DVD, Show-Fest has grown to be a fully-featured festival that can screen 35mm prints in a real cinema environment. In 2010 we were one of the first short film festivals in the world to exclusively use 35mm film andDCI-DCP digital for cinema projection.

Nafa is a selective festival that uses an independent judging panel to choose the finalist films. The judges will be drawn from members of Sydney film and television industry.

They have recently used at an exquisite cinema that is widely respected for its suitability for festivals. The Ritz Cinema is a multi-screen independent cinema in the Sydney Eastern Suburbs, surrounded by the cafe and restaurant precinct known as The Spot.

They have a Show & Tell format means that at least one cast or crew member is strongly encouraged to attend the screening. They can then talk on-stage about their experience making and promoting their film, and answer questions from the audience.

I love listening to the cast and crew share their experience on what were the highlights as well as the challenges they had on the project.

You can learn so much this way. I encourage anyone to attend short film festivals because a lot of the upcoming directors, actors, cinematographers start this way. A great way to get involved as an actor to keep honing on your craft.

I got so excited after this night, that I've aproached a few of the directors from the films I truly enjoyed.

The standard was surprisingly of high quality and standard! Loved it! I will definitely go again next year!

To have a great headshot that reflects and captures your essence is one you hope to get each time you do a photo shoot. I've had several photographers throughout my career and only recently have I found a photographer who has captured my real self.

A great headshot is our business card, it's the first thing casting agents, producers, directors etc look at before they meet us. So it's important to invest in a great photographer.

I love how the industry is also moving away from black and white and more towards colour headshots.

When you're looking for a great accent coach, you hope to find someone who embodies the culture of that country, has lived in that country and knows the attitudes of the people and possesses the personality traits of that nationality.

I have always studied with teachers who have only learnt the US accent and have lived there for a short period of time.

I finally found a great US accent coach in Sydney, highly recommended by my agent and several other actors who is herself, born and bred American. I'm talking about Paige Walker, a compassionate, helpful and highly skilled teacher, actor, singer and dancer who's body of work includes performing on Broadway.

So happy to say I'm gaining a lot of knowledge on how to dissect the US accent. It's alwasy exciting to go into my classes with Paige as I look forward to feeling so excited and enthusiastic afterwards, craving for more!

It is no surprise to any actor in Australia that we have to perfect our American Accent for the American jobs shooting in Australia or if you are testing for any projects in the States of Canada. We are definitely fortunate to have great American teachers who travel to Oz on a regular basis to provide us with the best workshops. One of these teachers is acclaimed voice teacher, Rowena Ballos regularly visits Australia throughout the year conducting one day workshops or full weekend workshops on accents and Shakespeare.

I am definitely taking this opportunity to study with her again! Rowena is a skilled master teacher in her craft, she has worked with thousands of actors around the world. Her past and present students include American actors Joanne Woodward, Peter Coyote and Australian actors, Judy Davis and Joel Edgerton.

I flew to Melbourne for Christmas and visited family, then shortly after the festivities it was time to quench my thirst for some creativity.

I couldn't resist, I had to audit and immerse myself in the Ivana Chubbuck Masterclass workshop in Melbourne this week.

The importance of an actor is to maintain your actor's craft by attending classes regularly. So when you're teacher is in town you do everything to be in their presence and soak up as much experience and knowledge each time.

You gain and learn so much by watching other actors working. You also get to see different interpretations of the same scripts.

It’s been a dream of mine to write a lifestyle show for many years now. I would like to share my favourite film of the year.

There are films that help shift and expand human understanding of Consciousness and the Universe such as The Matrix Trilogy films. The newest of these kinds of intellectual films which will have you thinking through many layers is from acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan who directs an international cast in “Inception,” an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the best in the dangerous art of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable.

I won’t give away too much more, but only to say “I absolutely loved it and can definitely see that the next frontier of this century to discover, is the frontier of the Mind.”

Auditioned today for Christine King for one of the lead roles in the new television series of Terra Nova, a new production produced by Steven Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Brannon Braga, David Fury, Aaron Kaplan, Katherine Pope, Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey and director Alex Graves.

A very exciting new television series scheduled to be shot in Qld for 6 months. The highest budget ever for a tv series of 150 million dollars.

A dream to audition for the lead female role and be seen by Hugh Jackman for his film X-Men Origins: Wolverine came true!

With the best casting agent in Australia "Christine King Casting" at the helm of the casting process in Sydney gave me the confidence and support. This opportunity gave me the inspiration to do the best I could. Although they were auditioning worldwide my auditions resulted in being short-listed for the role with only another actress from Australia.

I didn't get the role but was pleasantly surprised to hear it from Hugh himself of how I was considered. I met him through a mutual friend, and in his own words "You were talked about around the round table." A delightful experience cherished!

Im so proud to say I was part of the hottest, tough and compelling tv drama of "East West 101 - Series 1." I was fortunate enough to work with one of my dream directors, Peter Andrikidis and play a gutsy role in 3 x episodes of Series 1.

Before I auditioned for this show I was wanting to attract a role that would showcase my deep emotional range and work with Peter Andrikidis. The lucky stars were shining upon me with the opportunity to do a Masterclass Workshop with Peter. After this enriching course I was able to showcase a couple of varied roles, which led me to be requested by Peter for a role in this award winning drama.
